Richard Shao is our full time dental hygienist at Westchester Smile Design since 2003. Leveraging his experience as dental hygienist, Mr. Shao delivers various services which include reviewing medical and dental histories, assessing gingival and periodontal conditions, oral cancer screenings, performing thorough periodontal debridement as well as sealants and fluoride treatments.
Before coming to the United States, Richard Shao was a General Surgeon at the Guangzhou Hospital from June 1989 to May 1991. His responsibilities included; analyzing symptoms, making diagnosis, approving treatment plans, supervising junior staff in daily therapy, performing general surgery, and managing administrative issues. Mr. Shao is fluent in the languages of English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
